sunday morning nap?!

i'm quite sleepy right now... went to bed at midnight, woke up at 6 and then got up at 7 for a run... if it wasn't for the amazing breakfast i'm having right now, i'd probably be back in bed. i'm often torn-- do i use sunday to catch up on sleep? or to actually enjoy having time off/spending the time conscious?

my run worked up quite an appetite, and i started thinking about what i wanted to have for breakfast after about the halfway point . and i must say, this is one of my most delicious bowls to date:
  • wallaby vanilla bean yogurt
  • large handful synergy flakes
  • large handful granola
  • 10 or so cherries, pitted & halved
  • handful blueberries
  • 1/2 banana
  • ALMOND BUTTER

i took our company's international visitors out last night-- 1 from ireland, 1 from the uk--to dinner and then to the grocery store to get a few essentials (they are staying in a company apartment). i always seem to forget how different food can be across the atlantic. we went to lilly's pizza for dinner (fab place, which happens to be about 1 mile from the apartment), and after scanning the menu for at least 10 minutes, overwhelmed, one of them asked me, "so, what are pies?" no wonder they were overwhelmed . and then the idea of things like potatoes/pineapple/corn/chicken/etc. on pizza totally blew them. so we settled on a fairly plain (but still delicious) pie, and when i suggested we share the tofu salad (spinach, basil, grilled tofu, dried cherries, roasted pecans, toasted almonds, fontina cheese, homemade croutons), both guests asked me what tofu was! but they were both very open to trying new things, so we ordered it, and they ended up really enjoying it!

i also noticed that it's no longer a big deal for me to go to that pizza place, or any place, really. so i can definitely see the progress i've made...
