Raleigh, N.C. — Snow covered the Triangle Monday morning as more than 600 schools and businesses closed or delayed opening in response to the winter wonderland outside their windows.
The storm shifted north early Monday, and most of the snowfall had dissipated by 5 a.m. However, winter storm warnings and advisories were still in effect for some of North Carolina's 100 counties through midday on Monday.
"It's best to stay home if you can," said WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. "We've had some pretty stiff wind chill out there."
what, the meteorologist is telling me to stay home?!?! so i may stay home... i'm not sure yet. i can do all my work from home, and in fact, mondays are a good work-at-home day, because i have a lot of reports to run.
at first i thought i wanted oatmeal today (you know, to eat oatmeal while looking out the window to the snow...) but then i decided no, i wanted pb puffins.
** 2 starch, 1 fruit, 1 dairy **
oh and, i fought the urge to go running this morning. i reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally didn't feel like it, knew it would mean walking through the snow (ha!) to the gym, and just wanted more sleep. i am really trying to not feel guilty. i deserve this breakfast, run or not!
Good for you! You didn`t want to so you didn`t go. Exercise should not be something you don`t feel like doing. This is all part of listening to your body and you are doing a great job of that!
ReplyDeleteSince I live up in Canada, that snow stuff made me chuckle. It`s -23 here and people are out there with no hat on (I think they are crazy for the record)
Have a good day!
Haha, we got about 6" here, and everything is closed. I'm from Upstate NY - there, this would be a normal winter day.
ReplyDeletesusie & hope: i actually went to school in rochester, ny (only an hour or so from niagara) so i'm very familiar with the cold & snow. i think it's funny too!
