i'm back.

i took the night off from blogging last night. i slipped mid-afternoon and just felt like a FRAUD. i had talked to 2 friends yesterday, and let them know how well i was doing... and then slam, back into the disorder. i am sick of feeling like a failure, although i KNOW i am too hard on myself. i called my nutritionist and she helped me put the slip in perspective.

last weekend i had no time to get any of my household stuff done, and this weekend i did it all... so i think i was just a bit overworked. i have decided this week will be a good one. the morning has started off great:

a snack pre-run:

this was good, but i realized after one bite that i wasn't really in the mood for chocolate... this would be better as an afternoon snack. but i didn't feel like going to the trouble of finding something else and wrapping this up, so i finished it.

my run was perfect. i left at 6:45, when it was still pretty dark, but by the time i was 1/2way through the sun was rising. LOVE IT! it seemed pretty easy, too.

i just made the BEST BOWL of oats:
  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup water, 1/3 cup vanilla soymilk
  • 1/2 banana, sliced thinly
when oats were almost cooked i added:
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin
  • pinch pumpkin pie spice
and then for toppings:
  • 2 dates, chopped
  • 3 caramelized walnuts, broken into pieces
  • a ginger-o cookie!, broken up
  • a spoonful of pumpkin butter, drizzled over top
  • a spoonful of almond buttah
VOILA!

this actually didn't seem like too much . i was hungry from my run, and really, there were just a lot of small add-ins (you probably know this but i have to tell myself this!).

i packed my lunch early this morning, pre-run. here's what i packed:

lunch - sandwich (before closing) made with herbed greens, roasted garlic hummus, tabouli, and orange pepper

to be accompanied by...

a beautiful fruit cup!

(multiple pictures needed due to pretty colors)

for an afternoon snack...

kashi honey sesame tlc crackers with aged gouda

once again, i am super late. here's a preview of the latest crochet project. i am making a placemat! only thing is, this won't be appearing on the blog any time soon because it is for a class i am teaching, so even after i am done with it i won't want to get it dirty until the class is over. also, i am not so sure about the practicality of it... i chose very expensive yarn (because it is free for me from the store... the mat would otherwise cost $20!), and while it is 100% cotton it is also supposed to be handwashed. riiiiiiight. i will probably risk it and throw it in a lingerie bag on gentle cycle. it isn't taking all that long to make so if it falls apart eventually, it won't be that horrible.

off to run a million reports today. ciao!

  1. Is that the yarn you showed me on Friday? It's even prettier all crocheted up! And dang, girl, you make me want some hummus for sandwiches...
