things falling in the night

i didn't sleep well last night. not sure why, really. something slammed down in the middle of the night... perhaps my ironing board falling over or something? all i know is that i screamed out/woke up at around 2 am.

i needed lots of coffee with my breakfast this morning:

pumpkin oats... and a holiday mug...
  • 1/3 c oats, 1/3 c vanilla soymilk, 1/3 c water
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/3 c pumpkin (stirred in towards the end)
  • pinch pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 dates, snipped
  • scant T white chocolate chunks
  • ginger-o' cookie
  • tsp pumpkin butter
  • spoonful almond butter

i always get like this... guilty after a bowl with more "decadent" toppings. i'm trying to fight it... because a healthy diet is all about balance, and i think overall i'm quite balanced. so that means it's the ED and not reality...

a yummy lunch, all packed up:

sandwich made with tabouli (finished off the package), cucumber slices, and homemade cannellini bean spread

mmmm butt of the bread...

packed along with extra cucumber slices, carrot sticks, and a dried pineapple ring for desert

an afternoon snack, in a very cute container:

roasted & salted peanuts, 2 dried figs

i didn't feel like fresh fruit for some reason, but i'll probably want some after dinner tonight. cannot waste strawberries!!!


  1. I hope at some point I am able to recognize my ED voice like you do. I have a really hard time with that. Have a good day!

  2. Don't feel guilty about the toppings at all! You eat really healthily all day, plus you exercise. I think it's great!
